In 1955, Crystal Falls High School, located in a small town in the upper peninsula of Michigan, needed some major remodeling. For a class project, the junior drafting class was asked to create some blueprints for the job. Frank Albiero, one of the students, submitted a plan that was then used for the entire remodeling project. Frank always had an interest in building trades and architectural drawing and had visions of a life involving construction.
After graduating from the new remodeled Crystal Falls High School in 1956, Frank headed to the University of Milwaukee and began an eight year apprenticeship program to obtain his master plumber license. After working in Milwaukee doing commercial work, he moved to West Bend in 1967 where he started Albiero Plumbing, Inc. This first shop was operated out of an old, unheated barn on Decorah Road. In 1969, the company relocated to a shop on Indiana Avenue, and then completed another move to Schoenhaar Drive in 1971. Until Frank's retirement in 1998, our company operated out of this location.
Over the years our employees contributed a great deal to the overall success of the company. There is no doubt that Albiero Plumbing has had very dedicated employees; the longevity of their employment is only a small portion of their dedication to our customers and company. Three key employees, Jerry “Matt” Mathson, Tony Habersetzer and John Backhaus went on to purchase the company in May 1998. Two years later, the new owners completed their services by adding sales and service of air conditioning and forced air systems. In 2003, the company moved into a more convenient and larger location on N. Main St. in West Bend. Our current location is complete with an upscale, beautiful showroom.
